Innovation and Imagination

Jane Henry from Loomlab revealed the Pixel Project and launched her first collection of scarves on Friday.  Her vision of innovation and imagination showed through her unique designs.  Jane drew inspiration from different forms of visual languages such as binary codes and Braille poetry.  It was nice to see her organic approach to modernization and technology.

Jimmy Choo for H&M

My sister and I are totally excited about Jimmy Choo coming to H&M.  Although I'm still envious of the female shopper, because she gets a song while we get a note.  Still, much thanks to the wonderful fashionistas from Jimmy Choo for giving the guys something to look forward to as well.  I don't know about you, but I'm really excited about putting on my first pair of CHOOs.  =]

Yet Another Collaboration

I love all the great collaborations going on in the fashion industry right now.  I guess with the world wide recession,  fashion houses are turning to each other for help.  Comme Des Garcons and Converse are set to do their second collaboration this year.  All you have to do is wait a few more weeks to get your hands on Comme Des Garcons' version of "Chucks".  The small line of shoes are going for about $100 a pop.  And will be sold in CDG's flagship stores and Converse retailers in the U.S.

The Standard

The SIBstyLINGS spent saturday night out on the town.  My sister and I decided to meet up with a few friends at the very popular, very trendy STANDARD rooftop bar/ lounge.  If you're a fan of city lights, animal shaped topiaries, and water bed pods, then this is the perfect spot for you.  Dressed in shades of black, we enjoyed good views, good cocktails, and good company.
Happy Birthday Angeli Querido.

Alteration

I read about this today and I thought it was incredibly beautiful.  Greg Lauren, nephew of Ralph Lauren, decided to bridge together fashion and art.  He used forms of paper to tailor classic men's wear.  I am in awe over this (I die).  It is totally unwearable, but at the same time I'm DIEing to slip on a wide lapell pinstripe suit hand made from Japanese paper.  I'm seriously considering scotch taping together a safari jacket for work tomorrow.  Although it probably would not be a good idea with the rainy weather.  The exhibit will be shown till Nov. 1st in New York.

Hello outfit post =]

Here is what I looked like on Saturday night.  I tried to wear something other than a bowtie, but I just couldn't resist wearing my new one from French Connection.  =]

Divas Simply Singing

This weekend I went to Sheryl Lee Ralph's, Divas Simply Singing.  Its a benefit to raise aids awareness and funds for the Aids Healthcare Foundation and Women Alive Coalition.  Good cause right!  Like a true diva, Sheryl opened the show on an elaborate swing about thirty feet in the air.  And I thought her heels were high.  I couldn't do that.  I'm terribly afraid of heights.  And sing at the same time?!?!  No, Id DIE (and not in a Rachel Zoe kind of way).  Anyways, it was a spectacular night of good music, good humor, and gorgeous dresses fashioned by Tadashi Shoji.  THANK YOU Sheryl for having me!

Sonia Rykiel for H&M

Sonia Rykiel is set to be the next guest designer for H&M.  The label will be in stores winter 2009 and spring 2010.  Sonia made a name for herself as "The Queen of Knitwear" in the 70's.  The fashion house is now directed by Nathalie Rykiel.  I can't wait to see the colorful knits!  I have to say, this is part of the reason why I love H&M.  Their collaborations bridge the world of high fashion and everyday fashionistas.

Dries Van Noten

Dries would have to be one of my favorite shows this season.  All that print could be a little daunting, but I enjoyed the different colors and variety.  This collection would be perfect for all the Chuck Basses out there.  It was pleasantly eccentric and interesting.  And the shoes were kind of amazing.

Men In Tights

So, who ever said tights were only for girls?  For the guy who's afraid of the short shorts, this could possibly be your stylish solution.
