Mark Ronson

My apologies for the lack of updates.  I've been under the weather.....
Just in case you guys haven't noticed.... Mark Ronson is a pretty dapper guy.  The british musical artist is based in NYC and has been nominated for the Paper Nightlife "People's Choice" award for Best DJ.  You might also know him for his two sisters.  One is Charlotte Ronson, a designer making a name for herself.  And the other is Samantha Ronson, a DJ making a name for herself in gossip magazines all over the world as Lindsey Lohan's lover.  Anyways, Gucci's creative director Frida Giannini commissioned Mark to design a line of sneakers for Gucci.  I do think Mark can be pretty stylish, but his forte is music.  I wonder how much "designing" Mark actually did?  Probably as much as Lindsey did for Ungaro?

New Choos

The H&M at the Beverly Center was MADNESS.  My sister and I got there a little late.  The lines were endless, and the shiny blue boxes were flying off the shelves.  As soon as we got in I went straight to the men's Jimmy Choo section and grabbed the suede boots I wanted.  I walked around for hours, which is always a bad idea because I don't have anymore self control when it comes to shopping.  In the end I got my first pair of Choos and then some.

 

WE the people

Company of We launched earlier this year.  Their goal is to alleviate the "Bergdorf Blues" by placing a more affordable price tag on higher fashion garments.  I have to say, while the Fall/ Winter 2009 ad campaigns look very promising, I still think a few of the pieces could use a more appealing price tag.  I guess I'm a sucker coz that didn't even stop me from putting a few items on my "Wants" list.

Peter and the Wolf

Philip Sparks' autumn/winter 2009 collection was inspired by Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.  This winter I want to be both, Peter and the Wolf.  Bring on the fur, intarsia knit curling sweaters, and blanket coats.

 

Everyone looks better in Tom Ford

CONGRATS to Jon Kortajarena for being named GQ Germany's Model of the Year!  You probably recognize him form the Tom Ford ads.  So I guess it was no surprise to see him in tuxedo from Tom Ford's Autumn/ Winter 2009 collection.

Dipped in Black

Stone Tie

Today I attended the Tournament of Roses Coronation Luncheon.  I guess I found the GAGA in me and opted for a sapphire stone tie, rather than my usual bow tie.
